We take your privacy seriously. We are fully committed to handling the information we collect from you in a secure and responsible manner. Please read this policy which explains how we use your information, in particular:
- What information is collected from you through the web site
- How the information is used
- With whom the information may be shared
- What choices you have regarding the collection, use and distribution of the information
- The security procedures that are in place to protect the loss, misuse or alteration of information under our control
- How you can correct any inaccuracies in the information.
We are fully committed to handling the information we collect from you in a secure and responsible manner. Our webhost servers are located in Austria. We observe the provisions of the Austrian data protection legislation that fully conforms to the European Union guidelines and standards. We capture and store only minimal data required for the processing of delegates from registration to issue of seminar certificates.
We will not sell or rent to third parties the information collected from you on www.flexilern.com and will only share your information in the way described in this statement. We collect information from you at different points on our website and may use it for three general purposes: to customise the advertising and content you see on our website; to fulfil your requests for goods and services; and to contact you about news and special offers.
If you would rather that your details were NOT used in these ways, please contact us at any time to firstname.lastname@example.org.
When you register on the site we ask for your name, email address and post code or geographical name of location of your residence, work or convenience. We use these details to create an account for you, which can only be accessed via the username and password that you select. This information is also used to contact you about the services on our site about which we think you will be interested. Geographical information is used to propose a location for a seminar that may best match your preference.
Purchase of services
When you purchase services directly from us, you have the choice of paying by bank transfer or PayPal. Neither of this method of payment requires you to disclose sensitive personal data online. Payment by PayPal is among the most secure methods of making purchases on the internet currently available. At some time in the future we intend to offer payment by credit card. Relevant information will be captured and processed by our Quality Management System using highly secure SSL security technology. We will not keep your bank account or credit card information after the transaction has been successfully completed.
Should you contact us with questions or comments by email, we may temporarily keep your comments and forward them internally to improve the site but this information is not shared externally without your permission. If you enquire about a seminar on www.flexilern.com by using the enquiry form we will forward your details to the service provider (which may or may not be ourselves) who will deal with your enquiry by contacting you using the details you have supplied. We deal with reputable companies and believe they too hold your privacy in high regard.
We use IP addresses to analyse trends, administer the site, track your movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use.
We share aggregated demographic information with our partners and advertisers. This data does not include nor is linked to any personal information from which an individual can be identified. We use an outside credit card processing company to bill customers for goods and services. This company does not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes.
www.flexilern.com contains links to other web sites. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage you to be cautious when you leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each and every web site that collects your personally identifiable information. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by www.flexilern.com.
Surveys & contests
From time-to-time www.flexilern.com may request information from you via surveys or contests. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary and you have a choice whether or not to disclose this information. Information requested may include contact information (such as name and shipping address), and demographic information (such as post code, age and income level). Contact information will be used to notify the winners and award prizes. Survey information will be used for purposes of monitoring or improving the use and satisfaction of this site.
We take precautions to protect your information. When you submit information via the web site, your information is protected both online and off-line. When our registration or order form asks you to enter sensitive information, that information is encrypted and is protected with the best encryption software in the industry – SSL. While on a secure page, such as our payment order form, the lock icon on Web browsers such as Firefox, Safari, Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer becomes locked, as opposed to unlocked, or open, when you are just ‘surfing’. We also protect your information off-line. Access to all your information, not just the sensitive data mentioned above, is restricted and the servers where we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.
Personal data provided to us by delegates during registration is processed using a RapidSSL certificate backed by GeoTrust which allows for up to 256 bit encryption. The database is located on a Reserved Relational Database Service (RDS) instance at Amazon’s Sydney, Australia datacentre. This is a multiple availability zone (Multi-AZ) deployment, which provides for enhanced database availability and durability. It features a primary database instance and a standby instance in a different availability zone, meaning that it runs on its own physically distinct, independent infrastructure. In the case of failure of the primary zone database instance, Amazon performs an automatic failover to the slave database instance.
Once registered as website user you may occasionally receive information on products, services, special deals and a newsletter. If you do not wish to receive these types of communications email “unsubscribe” to email@example.com
Correction/updating personal information
If your personally identifiable information changes (such as your preferred post code or geographical location), or if you no longer desire our service, please let us know and we will correct, update or remove your personal data. This can be done by emailing to firstname.lastname@example.org.
In addition to the click boxes on our registration form, you are sometimes given the opportunity to ‘opt- in’ to having your information used for purposes not directly related to our site at the point where we ask for the information. For example, our order form has an ‘opt-in’ mechanism so users who buy a product or service from us and would like to receive further related marketing material can ask that their email address be added to our mailing lists.
